To achieve these goals, the NMDC actively integrates all relevant resources in Taiwan and collaborates extensively with the central and local governments. Research groups within the program focus on a variety of projects, including:
- an ecological survey of Aedes mosquitoes and related control measures
- integration of clinical management, seroepidemiology, and clinical virology
- public health education and vector control specialist training
- geographic information and early-warning systems
In line with government policy, the NMDC hopes to initiate international collaboration with Southeast Asia countries to improve strategies for mosquito prevention both at home and abroad and to help eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne diseases.
