環保署公告新增列管沃爾巴克氏菌為應用於防制環境衛生病媒之微生物製劑

提供單位:行政院環境保護署毒物及化學物質局 發布日期:2018.10.17網址:https://enews.epa.gov.tw/enews/fact_Newsdetail.asp?InputTime=1071017151519   環保署公告增列1種應用於防制環境衛生病媒之微生物種類沃爾巴克氏菌(Wolbachia Pipientis),加強管理應用於防制環境衛生病媒之微生物製劑。這種應用於登革熱病媒蚊體內的菌種,未來凡欲製造或輸入該微生物製劑應用於病媒害蟲防治之業者,都須要依環境用藥管理法的規定向環保署申請許可證,始可製造或輸入。    環保署表示,微生物製劑應用病媒害蟲防治是國際趨勢,其優點是具害蟲專一性及無化學殘留。為因應科技日新月異之新技術產生,除現已經環保署公告的蘇力菌以色列亞種(Bacillus thuringiensis)、圓形芽孢桿菌(Bacillus sphaericus)、白殭菌(Beauveria bassiana)、黑殭菌(Metarhizium anisopliae)外,特將國際間應用於登革熱病媒蚊防治的沃爾巴克氏菌(Wolbachia Pipientis),公告列為環境用藥微生物製劑。    有關本次修正發布相關資料請參閱環保署新聞專區下載附加檔案(https://enews.epa.gov.tw/enews/fact_index.asp ),或於發布日起至行政院公報資訊網(網址:https://gazette.nat.gov.tw/egFront/)下載。

【科技新知】Engineered resistance to Zika virus in transgenic Aedes aegypti expressing a polycistronic cluster of synthetic small RNAs

Recent Zika virus (ZIKV) outbreaks have highlighted the necessity for development of novel vector control strategies to combat arboviral transmission, including genetic versions of the sterile insect technique, artificial infection with Wolbachia to reduce population size and/or vectoring competency, and gene drive-based methods. Here, we describe the development of mosquitoes synthetically engineered to impede vector competence to ZIKV. We demonstrate that a polycistronic cluster of engineered synthetic small RNAs targeting ZIKV is expressed and fully processed in Aedes aegypti, ensuring the formation of mature synthetic small RNAs in the midgut where ZIKV resides in the early stages of infection. Critically, we demonstrate that engineered Ae. aegypti mosquitoes harboring the anti-ZIKV transgene have significantly reduced viral infection, dissemination, and transmission rates of ZIKV. Taken together, these compelling results provide a promising path forward for development of effective genetic-based ZIKV control strategies, which could potentially be extended to curtail other arboviruses.

「蚊臉」辨識系統!國衛院AI運用0.07秒揪登革熱病媒蚊

人臉辨識技術經常聽聞,國家衛生研究院開發出「蚊臉」辨識的智慧捕蚊系統,運用AI人工智慧技術,誘捕蚊子後只要0.07秒就可以瞬間辨識是否登革熱病媒蚊,並且以活體保存蚊子更方便實驗室進行後續檢驗,結合大數據資料庫以及地理資訊系統(GIS)將有助於未來登革熱疫情的評估,進而精準訂定防疫策略。 台灣每年都有登革熱、日本腦炎等病例發生,如何防治這些透過病媒蚊傳播的疾病受到重視。國家衛生研究院今(4)日發佈最新科技防蚊成果,以智慧捕蚊系統用以監控、追蹤登革熱病媒蚊密度。 國衛院生醫工程與奈米醫學研究所助研究員廖倫德表示,這項系統可以在捕捉到蚊子的同時進行蚊種辨識,並記錄當下的地點、環境狀態,經AI判定為具有登革熱傳染力的斑蚊會活捉,再將相關數據傳回系統後台,配合地理資訊系統的套疊,再透過大數據系統建立病媒蚊密度現況,掌握疫情;另儀器內也留存足以讓蚊子存活一個月的空間,便於後續送實驗室檢驗判讀 原文出處:https://health.ettoday.net/news/1347933
